MACHINERY AUCTION ASSISTANT
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced machinery valuer to join our hardworking team based at the 40 acre saleground at Sutton, Ely, Cambridgeshire.
Cambridge Machinery Sales
The role will encompass: the valuation of agricultural machinery for various purposes, cataloguing machinery and equipment for sale and securing instructions for on-site farm machinery auctions. As part of the team based at our 40 acre saleground you will also have involvement in the renowned monthly Cambridge Machinery Sales. The role will include involvement with online machinery auctions. The role will also encompass vintage auctions which regularly take place at our own saleground and annually at The Great Yorkshire Showground. The role will include travelling throughout the UK when required, and some weekend work. You will be expected to meet deadlines in what is a hectic and demanding schedule of auctions throughout the year. Applicants will need to be a team player, have good communication and IT skills and be prepared to work weekends when required. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years experience in agriculture, auctioneering experience would be an advantage but not necessary. RICS and/or CAAV qualifications would be an advantage together with a genuine interest in agricultural machinery. An opportunity has arisen for an auction assistant to join our hardworking team based at the 40 acre saleground at Sutton, Ely, Cambridgeshire. The role will encompass: securing and consigning agricultural and horticultural machinery and equipment for sale by auction at the world’s largest monthly agricultural machinery auction; dealing with vendors and purchasers from throughout the UK, Europe and further afield; cataloguing and photographing tractors and machinery for the online catalogue. The role is both office and yard based and you will be expected to meet deadlines in what is a hectic and demanding schedule of auctions throughout the year. Applicants will need to be a team player, have good communication and IT skills, enjoy the outside environment and be prepared to work weekends when required. A genuine interest in agricultural machinery would be advantageous.
