New business starts venture with McCormick Terry Coles, formerly of dealership JG Plant, has been tempted out of retirement to help create a new business selling farm machinery – and has already attracted a highprofile franchise for McCormick tractors. Terry supplied hundreds of tractors and implements to farmers and contractors through JG Plant, which he sold in 2014. The dealership was placed into administration at the end of last year, leaving customers in the Bridgend area and beyond without a local source of parts and servicing for their machines. Terry agreed to help set up TC Agriculture
with workshop technicians Will Lean and David Howells (who is also involved in sales), and parts/ stores manager Steve Evans. The business operates from the Brackla Trading Estate in Coity near Bridgend and immediately began supplying service consumables, replacement parts and other small but essential items that farmers need day-to-day. It also provides repairs and routine servicing. While the company intended to only trade in used tractors and machinery, Terry says the opportunity to take on McCormick was “irresistable”.
