GT Bunning & Sons manufactures a wide range of rear discharge spreaders from 6–40t capacities. The company was founded in 1906 and, since then, has employed a “build it strong and keep it simple” philosophy. This has led to a range of spreaders that are known for reliability, performance and excellent residual values which, in turn, deliver a very low cost of ownership, points out the company. The first manure spreaders were produced in 1986 when the business was still making trailers, tankers and other farm machinery. Increased demand for the spreaders in both UK and export markets enabled Bunning to focus solely on the
manufacture of Lowlander manure spreaders, concentrating expertise in all areas from production, sales, to after-sales and service departments. The Lowlander spreader range is available as either TVA, Twin Vertical Augers or HBD, (Horizontal Beaters and Discs). The majority of machines produced are of the TVA type with an increasing number of spinning discs being ordered by customers looking to spread a full spectrum of products, in particular chicken manure, lime, gypsum and bio-solids. HBD spreaders distribute products over a wider spread pattern than TVA. They are an advantage when application rates are very low due to the control of the product onto the discs and the adjustable drop on point and disc blade angle. Weigh cell technology is being specified by an increasing number of customers as the benefit of the auto-rate control element of the system is helping to increase output, reduce inputs and boost accuracy, concludes the company. ■

Slurry lagoon liners Slurry specialists Agri Environmental Group is UK distributor for Genap bv of Holland. The company imports and installs the Dutch range of specialist lagoon liners and floating covers enabling customers to use the correct PVC foil for the type of liquid material they need to store. “Our KIWA certificated Fecatex PVC-P lining material is ideal for slurry lagoons and in many cases can be manufactured and installed in one piece so that no on site welding is required,” says AEG. “This not only results in a superb quality liner but also greatly reduces the installation time and therefore cost.” AEG also offers a range of costeffective steel slurry storage tanks. These tanks are constructed from curved corrugated steel panels, which are bolted together to form an outer cylinder. The panels are galvanised and then covered with a vinyl thermoplastic Plastisol coating to provide corrosion resistance. These outer tanks are then lined with a reinforced PVC

liner and if required a cover can be installed to provide a closed system. With a storage capacity including freeboard of between 520m3 and 2,078m3 they can be easily erected and if necessary dismantled and moved to another site. In most situations the AEG tanks should meet ‘permitted development’ requirements. AEG can also supply and service slurry mixing, piping, pumping and spreading equipment, new or refurbished, including spare parts.
