...More on previous page Wessex eastern area sales manager Jake Browning reported interest in hedgecutters and the Bale bedder which was launched last year. “It’s been bought by livestock farmers primarily, for chopping and spreading round bales,” he explained. “It can be 3-point linkage mounted, but most demand has been for telehandler use as that makes it exceptionally versatile. The Dartford depot has been particularly busy supplying the bedder, although interest has been from across the trading area here at the show.”

The Green-Tec rotary cutting head was a highlight for visitors to the Spearhead stand. It will cope with branches up to 5cm and was previously only in 1.6m cutting width, but is now available up to 2.3m. Power demand is similar to a flail but cutting performance is enhanced by a high blade tip speed which produces a fine, tidy finish. MacDon combine headers are becoming increasingly popular for their ability to achieve high work rates even in difficult harvesting conditions, while minimising crop losses. The dealer has taken on the brand for East and South-East England and expects considerable demand for high horsepower combines. The headers can be fitted to any major brand easily just by exchanging the mounting plate and some hydraulic components. Ernest Doe will have a demonstration unit available this year and believes the range will complement the standard headers supplied with its combines. Since the Dal-Bo franchise was taken on by Ernest Doe Power in 2010, the full product range has proved popular with farmers and contractors and demand for cultivation equipment and rolls continues to increase. “Rolls are in demand across the trading area and every Ernest Doe Power branch has sold large numbers,” reported Dal-Bo UK sales manager Steve Atkin. “The biggest seller is the 12.3m version but there is considerable interest in larger widths up to 24m, especially with the latest model offering reduced tractor drawbar weight. Great Plains ceased production of cultivators and drills in the UK last year, but the company continues to provide parts and service back-up to dealers and users. All Great Plains dealers have access to genuine parts and specialist product knowledge through the UK team, now based in Lancashire at the Kverneland UK headquarters. “We supply genuine parts with all the benefits of long working life, correct specification and perfect fitting,” explained parts marketing manager Richard Bennett (pictured left). “Through the dealer network, back-up is as efficient as ever and the team includes members who have been with the company many years, with considerable product experience.” Pictured with Richard are Great Plains and Kverneland parts support specialist Kevin Waddingham and product support specialist Andrew Lake.

Simon Weaving is pictured with a new Sabre Tine leg option for the popular Tine Drill (left). “It allows low-disturbance drilling into precultivated soils,” he explained. “Where further soil disturbance isn’t required, or it’s unwanted to avoid stimulating grass-weed growth, it extends the Tine Drill’s versatility. It’s easily retrofitted and costs approximately £800 per metre drill width.”

Logic MH Ltd manufactures machinery and equipment for ATVs and UTVs as well as an innovative tractor-mounted brush herbicide applicator primarily for sugar beet. Pictured with a salt spreader for which there has been high demand this winter is area sales manager Oliver Minns. “The wintry conditions have resulted in additional enquiries for items such as salt spreaders allowing farms and estates to keep roads and yards clear and we have also sold a large number of sheep feeders making it easier to feed stock outdoors,” said Oliver. “At The Doe Show we took orders for implements including trailers and sprayers as well as other equipment. It’s been a really busy event.”
