es el de las citoquinas proinflamatorias. Se conoce la inducción de Interleukina 8 (IL-8) por stress crónico y se investiga su rol en la perpetuación del dolor. El factor de necrosis tumoral alfa (TNF alfa) tiene un importante rol en la sintomatología del dolor crónico y depresión, actualmente en estudio.(9)
En conclusión • Existen hechos a nivel del SN central y periférico que pueden actualmente ser estudiados por nuevas técnicas de imagen, que se constatan en los síndromes dolorosos crónicos y específicamente en la FM. • Estos hechos permiten introducir nuevos fármacos, con mejor tolerancia y menos efectos secundarios que los utilizados hasta el momento actual, entre ellos nuevos antidepresivos que actúan específicamente sobre el dolor.(10, 11, 12)
