Czech Out New Prague - on Thursday, Aug. 6 in 2020! Czech Out New Prague is an engaging business and community expo that appeals to everyone and includes kids activities, food, and more! Czech out what New Prague has to offer at this great community event. Classic Car Cruise - is the kickoff to the annual fall Dozinky Festival taking place on Friday, Septmeber 18th in 2020! The event features approximately 400 vintage cars and trucks. Following the cruise, visit the Chamber beer garden and live music on Central Ave. Czech harvest festival - patterned after the “old country” original, is held Sept. 18-19, 2020. Festivities take place on Main Street, which is closed to traffic. The event kicks off with a car cruise on Friday evening and continues with a parade and many activities on Saturday. The Parade of Farm Pride begins at noon. Booths, demonstrations and the Czech Village

line Main Street. Ethnic bands, singers and dancers perform on two stages. Mouth-watering ethnic and harvest treats to tempt every palate. Visit newprague. com or Dozinky Festival and Car Cruise on Facebook. New Prague’s Holiday Parade of Lights - Tree Lighting, and Fireworks will take place in Memorial Park on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020. Soup and hot cocoa is available for purchase in the park to keep you warm while you enjoy Christmas music and a spectacular fireworks display. Historic downtown - Home to many historic buildings, three are on the National Register of Historic Places: St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, First National Bank and the recently renovated Hotel Broz, all located on Main Street. The church, completed in 1907, is named for a former Duke of Bohemia and is based on a church in Prague, Czech Republic. The hotel, a Georgian-revival structure, opened in 1898. The bank is a renaissance revival and known for its terra cotta façade. Downtown is also home to a number of building murals that depict scenes from the city’s heritage. A historic context study and downtown historical reconnaissance survey are at ci.new-prague.mn.us. Farmers Market - Provides locally grown, in-season produce, baked goods, jams, jellies and honey. Open Wednesdays, 3-7 p.m. (starting mid-June) and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon from May to October in the East Town Plaza. Parks and trails - Nine city parks include ball fields, disc golf, a skate park and even an archery range. New Prague has over 7 miles of walking trails and 24 miles of sidewalks. Scott County’s Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park, located on the south shore of Cedar Lake, is a picturesque site for picnicking, swimming, and shore fishing. Kayaks and canoes are available for rent Friday through Sunday and holidays from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Visit threeriversparks.org/parks/cedar-lake-farm.aspx.
