Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail Resurfaced in 2020. In 1991, a group of 25 Elysianites began a four-year effort to lobby local legislators to fund blacktopping of the 39-mile trail. A wayside rest built along the trail is reminiscent of an earlier train depot there. Visit dnr.state.mn.us.

American Legion Lake Francis Ice Fishing Contest

– Compete for prizes, participate in drawings and eat homemade stew at the event held the first Sunday in February. Hosted by American Legion SAL Post 311.

Farmers Market – Every Thursday from 2 to 6 pm. Located in front of the Tourism Center on Third Street South.

Fourth of July – Features one of the largest parades in southern Minnesota, turtle races, vintage car show, kids fishing contest, street dances, medallion hunt, pancake breakfast, kids pedal pull, bingo and silent auction, volleyball tournament and fireworks. Spooky Trail – Sakatah Singing Hills Trail comes alive Oct. 31 with ghosts and goblins as families trick-or-treat along the trail. After, enjoy hot dogs and chips at the fire hall.

Christmas in Elysian – Held the first Saturday in December. Start off with a pancake breakfast

City park and beach – Updated playground, sand volleyball courts, ball fi eld, beach and picnic shelters provide on the south shore of Lake Francis. Parking and restrooms.

Lake Tustin Park – Quiet, dog-friendly park with picnic shelter and horseshoes.
