Rosario Bernabeu
Upper School Spanish Teacher Over the summer, Rosario attended and presented alongside Maria Saba at VI Encuentro didáctico ProfedeELE - Universidad Nebrija from July 19–23, 2021. They shared project-based learning implementation in Spanish class and shared class projects that they have both done in Lower and Upper School. Additionally, from July 22–24, 2021, Rosario and Maria virtually attended and presented at the National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL) Summer Summit.
Amy Burns
Lower School Music Teacher/Performing Arts Department Manager/Conservatory Director In July 2021, Amy attended the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL) Elementary Academy. Additionally, Amy presented “Elementary Music + Seesaw=Success at Seesaw Connect, their annual virtual conference. From July–August, she taught virtually “Seesaw for Music Teachers” for Midnight Music Community in Australia. In September 2021, her article “Where Do We Go From Here” was published in the TMEA Southwestern Musician Magazine.
Linda Corcoran
Director of Engagement and Philanthropy Linda, alongside Georgia Zaiser, will present in a session at the 2022 CASE Independent Schools Online Conference. The Session tile is “Welcome to the Family: Helping New Families Acclimate in a K–8 Environment.” This will take place February 23–24, 2022.
Gemma Keremedjiev
Learning Support Teacher In July 2021, Gemma completed 80 of the 100 practicum hours required for the Associate Certification with the Academy of Orton Gillingham. This will be completed by the end of this school year.
Adele Marky
M.A.L.L. Manager Over the Summer, Adele continued to work towards her LDTC Certification and completed graduate course work. Adele’s certification program requires a practicum that she will complete in the spring semester. The estimated timeframe of completion for the certificate is spring 2023.
Peter McBride
Fourth Grade Teacher/PD & MBE Coordinator Over the summer, Peter was a “Translation Group Leader” during the elementary version of the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL) Academy over four days. Each day, participants were in the main session and then broke into small groups called translation groups. Peter’s goal and role was to help guide participants as they unpack the research or topic discussed in the main session. They had themes around literacy and numeracy, and then general MBE principles and a roadmap.
Maria Saba

Math Specialist Natalie attended the Build Math Minds Virtual Math Summit from July 29–30, 2021. On August 18, 2021, she attended Desmos: Introduction to Building Activities.

Upper School History Teacher Hope attended the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL) Middle School Science of Teaching & Leadership Academy from July 26–29, 2021.
Georgia Zaiser
Head of School On January 23, 2022, Georgia will be presenting with Melissa DePino, Principal Leapfrog Group in Denver, CO at the CASENAIS Independent Schools Conference. Their session will provide a framework and tactics for creating messaging that will revolutionize how you think about and approach your work as a marketer or fundraiser, and why being “message positive” is not only good for your institution but empowering for you and the entire school community. Georgia will be leading a roundtable discussion and was asked to present “The Power of a Positive Message” for the CASE District II Conference being held February 13–15, 2022 in New York City. Georgia, alongside Linda Corcoran, will present in a session at the 2022 CASE Independent Schools Online Conference. The Session tile is “Welcome to the Family: Helping New Families Acclimate in a K-8 Environment.” This will take place February 23–24, 2022.
