Now I Know How It Felt Like Being In A Massive Traffic Jam, Particularly Singapore Traffic Jam by fanomar | on August 1, 2013
Yesterday, I went to pick up my guitar after sending it for servicing in town. It was about 2.00pm. Because I don’t have a driver’s license, I had no choice but to take public transport to travel. But in any case, the public transport is actually quite reliable than some other countries around Singapore. But that’s not the point that I’m trying to make in this post. You see, as the bus was moving up the highway, I saw a signboard that said
“Massive Traffic Jam Ahead”
Surely, when you see those words, you’ll know that there’s bad stuff to come. And sure enough, I got into one of the worst Singapore traffic jam ever.
The longest Singapore traffic jam I have ever seen I mean, I have been through traffic jams before, but this one was way too much. By right, it is usually an hour journey to my house if I were to take that express bus.

But because of the jam, it took me 3 hours to get home! That’s way too much, I feel. I don’t know what would you do if you’re in my position, but I started to fidget within my seats, because I was restless after an hour of getting caught in the jam. And I remembered playing my music mp3 albums twice in a row! I have never done that before, but I finally did.

I started seeing cars moving on the road shoulders. I know that it was illegal to do so, but some vehicle owners just couldn’t be bothered with the law at that time.

Not only that. Some vehicles even made a detour via exiting the highway through the nearest exit.
And that got me thinking throughout the duration when I was in one of the worst Singapore traffic jam ever… Since the bus had a long way to go on the highway, why not make a detour and exit the highway? I mean, it can definitely connect back to its intended route later, can’t it?
