Highlights of the design include a self-contained sixth-grade neighborhood, improved security, transformed space for 21st century learning and a new auxiliary gymnasium.

A creative phasing strategy has lowered the middle school’s construction costs by $5.5 million and reduced the project schedule by 6 to 12 months. New Castle Middle School’s students have moved into excess space within New Castle High School for the duration of construction. This is allowing contractors to work more efficiently, resulting in the savings.
