THE AUDUBON PARK Garden District is an award-winning shopping and dining “ecodistrict” in Orlando, FL. Located near Winter Park, Baldwin Park and downtown Orlando, it has some of the best shopping, dining, services and activities in Central Florida. Audubon Park was developed in the 1950 and '60s; for years the area catered to nearby Orlando Air Force Base and then later the Naval Training Center Orlando. Since then, the Audubon Park Garden District along Corrine Drive has blossomed into a thriving borough of unique businesses and seemingly endless events and community activities. The APGD is also a fi ercely independent shopping and dining district. Every Monday evening you can attend the Audubon Community Market in the parking lot of Stardust. Orlando’s most original farmers market is home to a weekly gathering of growers, ranchers, fi shermen, chefs, artists, handcrafters, musicians and neighbors. If you want to be more involved in the neighborhood you can join one of the many community groups and/ or activities, including running and biking, community yoga, cooking classes, gardening classes, happy hours and trivia nights. The APGD has so many wonderful community events. Saturday Serenades take place in the courtyard at the popular East End Market. Other popular events include but are not limited to, sip and strolls, garden tours, Halloween festivities, Shop Local Saturdays, Wine Wednesdays and movies on the lawn at the exquisite Leu Gardens. The residential streets are lined with well-maintained 1920s and midcentury homes. The Audubon Park School, a K-8 public school, makes this an ideal area to buy a home and raise a family. Established in 2008, the Audubon Park Garden District is an accredited Orlando Main Street program and a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Created by the National Trust for Historic Preservation over thirty years ago, Main Street is a national movement to help cities, towns, and villages revitalize their neighborhood business districts.
