JOURNEY THROUGH TIME Hello!

 

I am Fatima and here I would like to take you on a quick and enjoyable tour - as I hope – our journey will be through time, let’s begins in 2008 just one year before I graduated from primary school, out from nowhere my parents decided to transfer me to another school claiming that it is closer, newly built and its teachers are highly qualified, and of course my 10 years old self refused that decision so badly, in my first school I had a large number of friends, My teachers loved me, In any case, man is a prisoner of habit, as they say. it is difficult to accept change or change something in our lives, and because of my parents decision I had to have the biggest change in the life as a 10-year-old, a new school, new classmates and new teachers and the worst, new facilities and buildings need to be memorized, like this began my sixth and final year of primary school, but by the end of the sixth year I was graduating the first batch of AlSalam Primary School for Girls located in Jedhafs, I was a distinguished I was a distinguished graduate, the change in my life forced me to get out of my comfort zones, forced me to learn new skills, make new friends, and most importantly taught me design!, and here was the pivotal turning point in my life, our computer teacher in my new school saw that when I use Microsoft Office programs that I tend to focus on the way to coordinate speech and the pictures, so she made me responsible for designing the weekly newsletter that is distributed to all students with a team of my colleagues and then print it and distribute it, after that at the end of the year all Bahrain primary schools used to choose one student to join the Talented Center in Muharraq at that time, and guess what? I was the selected student. It's time to move on to another year , During the summer vacation of 2009, I joined a Photoshop course at the Talented Center, in which I learned the basics of Photoshop and that my baby steps toward design, After that I continued to use Photoshop and design year after year, we are now in 2012 approaching the end of the intermediate school where I designed a full advertising campaign for the Islamic education project about hajj, designed the logo, 3 Continue

the scarves we wear and the campaign cards we use in our events where the project has a great turnout of students and teachers, jump in time again we are on the verge of the beginning of 2016 now turned towards the university I never thought about studying design because for a long time I considered myself a designer, for the past years I continued to design in all corners of my life, design is simply part of me and my being, it is part of my identity and who I am and wherever I go and whatever I do design will be a presence in it, so I thought of studying the engineering of medical devices in Germany, and after this decision I studied the language for a whole year, but the change was the master of the situation again, the sudden circumstances that my family went through prevented me from continuing the goal, and I decided in 2017 To study the closest specialty I wanted in Bahrain and I suddenly found myself studying architecture, I loved aspects of design in it but I never found myself there, Moving on to 2020 after a year of pandemic, a year of sitting in the houses I was able to think clearly I am a designer, I love design, and this is what I am why shell I waste my years here and there instead of going straight to my passion, I love learning programs, and I don't mind sitting for several hours straight, planning, thinking, researching, and learning new skills. This is what I am. I always aimed to be a designer, and sometimes worked in this field. I simply aim to be a professional and distinguished designer, communicating with people. Through design, design is everywhere, in the street advertisements, in the food we buy in the supermarket, in the books we read, in what we see, in what we live in and everywhere. I aspire to achieve this goal through learning in your esteemed university, which has long been known to be one of the universities that produces the most qualified students for the Bahraini and even international labour market and this is what I want. stoneware so far,

2021 The end of our journey through time here and now I would like to be a student at your university to learn design in a more professional and accurate way than I know now, so they honoured me by giving me the opportunity to be the person I want to be. 4

CREATE A COMPOSITION For the first task my concept was “A gathering place” I chose a corner where we receive guests or meet with loved ones from friends and family, in addition to that, I like the architectural characteristics of the place, where the lighting is distributed in a distinct way within the design of the gypsum in the ceiling, also there is the sliding door that allow the entry of natural light .. In creating this task I drew first with a pencil as a free hand sketch, then I drew it with ink, and finally I decided to make three colouring and design concept for the painting. This is the first one I used mixed media, where I colored the floor, glass and armchair with TOUCH colors, while the rest of the painting I used pastel colors, especially in the lighting to give it luster and vivid feeling.

getting to know someone is a pretty hard thing, to me every single human is a puzzle, in order to know them we should collect the piece by piece and but the pieces in the right place with the right order and then maybe we will be able to understand them and what make them who they are . this art work is a reflection of who I am , and what I am made of.

I chose 3 color combinations, The basic colors, which were represented in Blue, yellow and one shade of red (hot pink),then The secondary colors represented as green and last achromatic colors such as black and gray. These pictures where some of the elements that I used to create the abstract art work and each and every 100 pieces . And every picture has a special meaning and story behind it.

SCULPTURES AND HANDICRAFTS Basket container Made by 3D Pen, I designed it to solve a problem with my bathroom accessories set, after my little niece broke it, so I needed to choose a material that is water-resistance and unbreakable when dropped on the floor, it's the perfect size for a toothbrush and toothpaste, and finally it has aesthetic qualities and here was the role of butterflies .

ART WITH A TWIST In this section, I will present artworks inspired by other artworks, adding my own touches 1. Dance With Life: This work I drew after I finished reading the book Dancing with Life, as it embodies my feeling and understanding towards the book

2. SENSATION: I designed this work after watching the emotional Disney Pixar movie (Inside Out).

BRANDING AND MARKETING DESIGNS My client was aiming to open a BBQ box project for all family occasions, with special Bahraini flavors, through social media platforms. This is the logo that we adopted for the project and then I started designing the boxes and the rest of the details, followed by designing the Instagram account

Last year, I applied to study the web media major because I thought, according to the advice of a friend of mine in the same major, that it was a more comprehensive major than the one I really wanted, and in the end I got accepted, but I was put on the waiting list, which disappointed me, but decided not to go In my other study options, I decided to stop, a year in which I do something different and this is what happened. This year I worked as a freelancer, designed many topics and had many interesting experiences, it was a prosperous and wonderful year that helped me make the right decisions, and here I am again submitting my request to you I hope you will accept it as a great opportunity to share creativity.

Important note: I tried to communicate in all available ways with the university (registration department) I tried to contact all university numbers and wrote an email to the registration department asking about the link for submitting the portfolio, as it was mentioned that a link would be sent to the student’s email on the day of submission, but nothing was sent, and finally I was intending to compare the syllabus of a design program at another educational institution with the syllabus of the visual design program at your university, and then I found an link to submit the portfolio, and this was the reason for my delay in submitting the file.
