Throughout July & August New Rides at Paultons Park Paultons Park, Romsey, SO51 6AL Two exciting new rides, The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride and Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club have been unveiled at Paultons Park. Normal admission charges apply.

For some quality time with the kids, families can collect their activity sheets at Visitor Reception and get stuck into a range of brainteasing trails at The Vyne.

On The Lost Tapestries Trail, young adventurers will love finding and fitting together jigsaw pieces of oriental tapestries hidden across the grounds. To really run off steam, intrepid explorers can head out into Morgaston Woods for geocaching, den building and orienteering, while youngsters under ten will love the Hidden Realm play area. All ages can enjoy the Shifting Landscapes Photography Trail in the gardens and submit their own snaps of The Vyne into a photography competition by 13 August. Ice cream and other delicious goodies are available from the Brewhouse tea-room and the north lawn is the perfect place for picnics. If everybody’s been good, they can treat themselves in the gift shop. Normal admission applies and some events have a suggested donation.

Come to the (Steam) Fair!

Visit Britain’s largest working traditional steam fairground and railways. Enjoy the rides, such as the unique Razzle Dazzle, the world’s first ‘white knuckle’ ride.

The rides may be old but the atmosphere is cordial and ideal for that relaxed, family day out. All rides are included in the admission price, and once you’ve paid, you can come back free as many times as you like for a year!

Grease outdoor cinema screening

It’s hard to beat Summer Nights watching a movie outdoors in a park, especially if you’re enjoying an open-air screening of one of the most popular films of all time! A limited number of tickets are available to see Grease under the stars in War Memorial Park on Wednesday 4 July as part of Basingstoke Festival. Bring your friends and loved ones and sing-along to Greased Lightning, You’re the One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted To You and the rest. If you can’t make this screening, there’s lots of amazing family entertainment at the all-new B LOVE event on 7-8 July.

Don’t miss this summer’s biggest science adventure, Mission Mega Machine at Milestones Museum, Basingstoke.

The Hawk Conservancy Trust Andover, SP11 8DY

The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a full day out for all the family. Get the children outside and immersed in nature. You will witness some of the most spectacular flying displays in the UK, as well as having the opportunity to meet an owl. Children can blow off some steam as they explore the park and take part in the new activity trail, the Matt Sewell Owl Prowl. Plus, there is a new bird of prey themed playground to enjoy.
