Families Fife Issue 14 July-August 2012

www.familiesfife.co.uk t’s July and for those of us with kids, it’s the official start of the summer. Depending on your point of view, you’ll be approaching the next 6 weeks with either a sense of dread or with one of joy. I’m feeling a mixture of both if I am honest. Joy definitely, at the thought of not having to get organised by 8.30am every day. And dread at the very real possibility of many rain soaked long days indoors! On the positive side, the Diamond Jubilee is past and the Olympic Torch has left Scotland. School Sports Day, Health Week, Bike Week, Transition Week and the myriad other highlights of the busy June calendar are now past. Phew! I wonder if they’ve started issuing mums-to-be smart phones in the maternity wards? If you are erring on the optimistic side however, there is certainly no shortage of things to do in the region. Check the centre pages for ideas and inspiration for day trips and use the Out and About section on Page 14 to find out what’s happening throughout the summer months. Don’t forget hats and sunscreen – we’re being optimistic remember… and do Like us on Facebook and check www.familiesfife.co.uk to be in the know as soon as we are. Happy holidays.  Susan Kirkwood, Editor
