The Downlands Project presents Banstead Countryside Day 2011 Sunday 11 September, 10.30am - 4.30pm Celebrated annual family event organised by the Downlands Countryside Management Project, in association with the Old Surrey Downs Project, Downlands Trust, Reigate & Banstead BC & open as part of the national Heritage Open Days weekend. The theme of the day is a celebration of our local countryside and its fantastic flora & fauna, history, community & produce. Visit the Old Surrey Downs Project trailer to find out about the chalk grassland restoration work being carried out in your area & how to get involved.

There will be lots to see and do! With over 100 stalls/activities, including: meet the Project’s sheep, demonstrations of traditional woodland management techniques, children’s woodland nature trail, crafts galore, bug making fun, plus tractor-trailer rides & swing boats! Plus a full programme of special arena displays, including the return of ‘Adams Axemen’ by popular demand!
