Our Favourite Waterfalls IN SOUTH-EAST QUEENSLAND

We’ve been out looking for and photographing our favourite waterfalls in the South-East for your enjoyment these Easter school holidays! Check out our favourites here then jump online to find out how to get there and what facilities you will find there too! So please… go chasing waterfalls!

SPRINGBROOK WATERFALLS These are some of the most gorgeous waterfalls in SE QLD. The Natural Bridge, Purling Brook Falls and the Twin Falls provide a wonderful outlook in the Gold Coast hinterland region. Truly spectacular. Make sure you are aware of the hiking and swimming restrictions before you set off. Find out more www.familiesmagazine.com.au/springbrook-waterfalls-with-kids

It’s one of our absolute favourite things to do on the Gold Coast with kids – for very good reason! Currumbin Rock Pools in the Currumbin Valley are the not-so-secret hidden gem on the Gold coast you simply must make the time to visit with your family. CEDAR CREEK, SAMFORD

KONDALILLA WATERFALL

Not to be confused with Cedar Creek at Mt Tamborine, our article will take you to a behind the scenes look at what this traditional waterfall is like. Brisbane families on the northside have long been aware of this spot – it’s a firm favourite! The falls themselves are quite small (comparatively at least) but the swimming, exploring and lounging options make this a great choice for families with children. Kondalilla Falls is located near Montville, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The swimming hole is easily accessible and only a few minutes’ walk from the car park. It is large and lusciously green with a 4m cascade, all great for swimming with kids as long as you keep a watchful eye. The best part is that it is only a few minutes’ walk from the car park along a reasonably steep, but manageable decent. Find out more www.familiesmagazine.com.au/ kondalilla-national-park

CEDAR CREEK FALLS MT TAMBORINE Cedar Creek Falls at Mt Tamborine has three rock pools in which you can swim. The water is often very cold, but it makes a great place to cool down on a hot day. The top rock pool is quite deep, and it has a couple of ledge areas which children can sit and paddle their feet quite easily. The two other rock pools were further down the rock face. There are no stairs, so you must walk over the mostly flattish rock. Find out more www.familiesmagazine. com.au/cedar-creek-falls-mt-tamborine

BOOLOUMBA FALLS, INLAND SUNSHINE COAST The Booloumba Falls bush walk is ideal for families who love a bit of adventure in the great outdoors. Along the way you’ll be treated to the beauty of waterfalls, creek cascades, tall eucalypt forest, rich lush rainforest as well as spectacular boulders, which line the creek and will be a big hit with the kids who will enjoy climbing them! We’ve even got info about camping if you’d like to extend your stay! Find out more www.familiesmagazine.com.au/booloumbafalls-conondale-national-park
