Lincoln DETERMINED TO FLY!

F

or many of us flying is something you can only do in a figurative sense. For Lincoln deal he made a business out of shooting in the air. Lincoln deal is the proprietor of Jetlink Adventures but his journey to the sky did not come as an easy ride. Despite the many challenges Lincoln faced he was determined to fly and in in an exclusive interview with Faith Over Fear Magazine he shares some of his pitfalls motivations and successes.

Lincoln's knack for business began at a very early age as he would construct forts, make lemonade and even popsicle stick structures to sell to his church members and neighborhood. In

high school he joined organizations such as Junior Achievement, the gentlemen's club and Kiwanis to further enhance his natural entrepreneurial spirit.

In the latter part of his college years he noticed the emergence of the jetpack as a water sport and the Americas. He thought that this would be a great addition to our tourism product and thus the journey began. With his dream in his heart and no money in his pocket he came home hopeful to gain funding and the necessary licensing to bring his dream to life.

Lincoln says that Jetlink Adventures is a story of faith, persistence and trust in God.

He was denied licensing seven times and would have been completely stopped if not for a court ruling. After three years and seven denials he received the license needed to begin the business but there was a long road ahead as financing was still needed. Lincoln’s faith was put to the test yet again as rejection flew in from 17 different investors.

Lincoln’s story is one that is truly inspiring for the entrepreneur who is going through a drought or at a crossroad in their business.

His advice to his younger self and by extension those wanting to begin a business is to: 1. seek mentorship he says that although you may be bursting with energy it needs to be refined by those with more experience and knowledge.

2. To plan all the way to the end you may not know what challenges may arise but have good core planning and financial planning economic planning and business development.

3. Continue to seek God and follow his plan stay in time throughout your process.

Lincoln says that the four most immobilizing factors when it comes to beginning a business are the mental barriers, economic barriers/ red tape for license, access to capital and fear to take that leap of faith. However, he

“entrepreneurship may be hard but it’s not impossible. The life of an says

entrepreneur is a LEAP but if you have a passion for what you’re doing and you plan all the way through, you will push through and keep going no matter what happens. If you don’t love something at the first denial you will give up.”
