HK Holbein, Inc. Daily Demos by David Becker, Master Watercolorist, using the Holbein Artist Watercolor line.
While David Becker works in many mediums, he is best known for his watercolor scenes of Chicago; the city in which he has spent most of his life and artistic career. After studying at The American Academy of Art, he became an illustrator for advertising agency J. Walter Thompson, and then for Foote Cone and Belding. He also started teaching around the country, but always found time for his favorite ambition: creating fine art paintings. Many of his works are hanging in homes and businesses throughout Chicago. His favorite painting, a commission from Starbucks, features a view of Wabash including the “L” platform, as seen from a window in Starbuck’s Macy’s location at Randolph and Wabash. It hung for years in the store’s northeast corner. David is the author of Watercolor Composition Made Easy, and How to Sketch with Watercolor. His articles have been published in International Artist Magazine and in Watercolor Magic. David has achieved signature status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and has won numerous awards for his work. See ad on page 5 Booth: 455
