SCR is concerned over the cases of Ticketless Trav-
el / Irregular Travel and Un-booked Luggage and has continuously been taking concerted efforts to
eliminate the same through regular ticket checking
drives and campaigns. In the FY 2012-13, around 23 lakhs cases of Ticketless Travel / Irregular
Travel / Un-booked Luggage were detected during
ticket checking activities over SCR jurisdiction and an amount of around Rs.75 Cr. was realized
Wife, Close Relatives Held For Man’s Murder HYDERABAD:: The Kushaiguda police have unravelled mystery of a murder case and arrested the victim’s wife, her sister and her husband. It may be mentioned here that on January 16 this year, an unidentified male body was found in Kapra Lake with burns and injuries. The Kushaiguda police registered a case in Crime No. 39/2013 under Sections 302 and 201 IPC and took up investigation. According to Deputy commissioner of police,
Malkajgiri zone, Cyberabad, today the sleuths of Kushaiguda P.S. unraveled the mystery and arrested Manjula, wife of the deceased Tony, 45, of Renukanagar, Neredmet. They also arrested Vasanth alias Basanth, co-brother of deceased and his wife B Renuka. The deceased of Alugadda Bavi of Secunderabad married Manjula after his first wife died 15 years ago. They were blessed with a daughter and son. Frequently, the deceased had quarrels with
Manjula as she was flirting with many people. The deceased used to consume alcohol every day and quarreled wit her. Vexed with his attitude, Manjula decided to eliminate him physically and sought help of her sister and her husband, who had agreed to kill the deceased. When the deceased returned home on the night of January 15, 2013 and slept, Manjula and Vasanth hit him with a pestle repeatedly till he died. Later, Vasant and his wife Renuka took the body to Kapra
Lake, burnt it with petrol and threw it in the lake. A missing case in Cr No: 67/2013 was registered in PS Neredmet by the brother of deceased as his wife was not giving correct details. The police seized the pestle and numberless scooter of the deceased used in the commission of offence and produced them in the court. Inspector K.V Reddy investigated the case under supervision of M. Ganesh reddy, ACP, Alwal Division.

The number of cases of Ticketless travel detected has registered an increase of 17% and the cases of Irregular Travel detected has shown an increase of 25% whereas Unbooked luggage showed a decline of 0.18% when compared to FY 2011-12. 2600 Ticket Checking staff, comprising Chief Ticket Inspectors, Travelling Ticket Examiners and staff of special Squads in the Divisions are engaged day and night in regular ticket checking activities in all Express and ordinary
passenger trains over the Zone. In addition, surprise checks are being carried out by a 12 member Head Quarter Flying Squad and also by Officers to monitor and guide the ticket checking drives and ensure that penalties are levied on erring passengers as per rules. Ticketless Travel / Irregular Travel / Un-booked Luggage is a social evil and an offence as per extant rules in this regard. To prevent this, SCR is intensifying the checks / special drives to detect the erring passengers and levy penalties. In view of the above, SCR makes an earnest appeal to the passengers to travel with proper tickets / travel authorities without violating any rule in this regard. Travelling public are also requested to avoid Ticketless Travel / Irregular Travel / Un-booked Luggage in the interest of ensuring comfortable journey to bona-fide passengers and to prevent leakage of Railway revenue
HYDERABAD: Muhammad Abdul Shukoor, a resident of Yakuthpura and fire wood business man, was attacked by some notorious rowdy-sheeters early Tuesdaymorning. The incident took place when Shukoor was on the way to his home at around1:00 am after attending a function. When he reached his house, adjacent to a hotel which is open all the time, he found that some youngsters were drinking wine in front of his house at his fire wood shop. He objected to this and asked those people to leave and not to repeat such nuisance again. On this, suddenly the hotel’s owner Farooq, along with his four sons and a
mob of rowdy sheeters came out and attacked Shukoor with deadly weapons like swords, knives, steel rods and other harmful articles which have been taken under custody by Rain Bazar police of South Zone. Shukoor sustained serious injuries on head, neck, stomach and all over his body and was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Malakpet where he is battling for life. The Rain Bazar police have arrested the accused and booked a case on them. Police have said more six accused are absconding and the police have launched a manhunt for their arrest.

Cricket betting racket busted HYDERABAD: Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team on Tuesdayarrested two cricket betting organizers when they were accepting cricket betting amount in the limits of Panjagutta police station from the known and unknown punters directly and indirectly. The accused identified as Subramanyam Manikantam and Shaik Faryaz were betting over cell phones for ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) Matches Kings XI Punjab Vs Royal Challengers, Bangalore teams playing in Bangalore. The police seized one television, three
cell phone, one calculaor and net cash of Rs 11,000 from their possession. According to police, the accused Subramanyam Mani Kanth and Shaik Faryaz are native of Nellore District and they had been staying in a flat at Yellareddy guda ,which belongs to their friend. For last few months Subramanyam Manikanth had been facing financial problems therefore he charted a plan to earn easy money by accepting cricket betting amount in an organizing manner directly and indirectly from the known and unknown punters in the Hyderabad during the
Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, 2013. For this purpose he called his friend Shaik Faryaz from Nellore who was sitting idle after completing his studies. To carry out his illegal betting racket they contacted punters over their cell phone in Hyderabad and running cricket betting in an organized manner at their house located at Sai Srinivasa Residency, Behind PRR Law College, Yellareddy guda in Ameerpet and accepting cricket betting amount directly and indirectly over cell phone from them by watching TV on ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) matches and
promised them to distribute the collected amount after completion of the match.
