Lash extensions have risen in popularity over the past few years and deciding where to go can be a minefield. Georgia Burroughs has been a qualified lash tech for just over three and a half years, she started lashes as a side line when studying at university and has become so successful it’s now her main job. Working from a gorgeous salon located on London Road, she offers a variety of lash and brow services including hybrids, which I prefer as they give a more natural look. I used to wear strip lashes on nights out, but got fed up with the glue and ensuing ugliness when I removed them. Georgia was recommended through a friend, so I decided to take the plunge. The service takes about an hour for a full set and I was made as comfortable as possible. We had a good chat about life and the universe which certainly helped pass the time. My lashes look amazing, it doesn’t even feel as though I’m wearing any. Certainly a lot less cumbersome than strip lashes and I get to wake up feeling gorgeous everyday.

Located on Blatchington Road in Hove, there’s a brand new fitness studio opening and you are invited to come along. This women only gym welcomes all ages, with classes specifically for seniors with a social element, these classes run Monday - Friday at 10.30am and again at 2pm. After exercising the class will adjourn for a coffee and a chat, the perfect way for older women to stay healthy and combat loneliness and make new friends. There are a total of 50 different exercise classes at Vida Active and on opening day you will be shown class demos to help you decide which ones are the best fit for you. There’s also the chance to enter a prize draw and win a week in Mykonos! The prize includes; stunning villa accommodation with a pool, food and drink day excursions to a different island, daily exercise and Mykonos transfers - all you need to do is buy your return flights. Local MP for Hove and Portslade, Peter Kyle will be cutting the ribbon and delicious free refreshments will also be served, what’s not to like?
