Meet Paddington Bear

Paddington Bear will make guest appearances on the platform at Cranmore Station at quarter past the hour from 10.15am to 3.15pm. There will also be a Paddington Trail and Punch and Judy to entertain you when Paddington clocks off to have his marmalade sandwiches. You can ride the steam train on East Somerset Railway as many times as you like and look around the Engine Shed and workshop. Driver for a Tenner will be running, where you can drive a locomotive for £10, and the Miniature Railway will be open all day. Book online or on 01749 880417.

‘In Xanadu - Coleridge and the West Country’

Brunel Fun Days at West Somerset Railway

Meet the West Somerset Railway’s very own Brunel K Beagle. He will make appearences throughout the day on Minehead platform. No ticket is needed to visit the platform and meet Brunel but you will need a standard rover if you wish to travel on the train. Book online or on 01643 704996.

A chance for families to explore the parkland at Dyrham Park with experts and have a go at fun activities such as making friends with a bug or identifying different plants . There may even be a chance to create your own wild art. From 11am to 12pm.

Meet the makers featured in the exhibition and book, ‘CRAFT’, by Kate Lynch at Somerset Rural Life Museum, Chilkwell, Glastonbury. Meet a different local craftsperson each day and enjoy demonstrations including willow weaving, pottery and stone carving. Plus Friday 3 - Children can enjoy bee related crafts and activities.
