SEPTEMBER 8, 2013

The Reverend Richard D. Meadows Jr., Rector

WELCOME TO ST. LUKE’S!

We’re glad you’re worshiping with us today! If you are visiting St. Luke’s, please sign the Guest Book located in the vestibule and help us welcome you by identifying yourself to the ushers or a member of the clergy. We also hope you’ll introduce yourself when invited to do so during our announcements (but it’s perfectly alright not to!). If you are looking for a church home we would be delighted to have you consider joining the St. Luke’s community.

At St. Luke’s, all baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you’d prefer to receive a blessing (rather than the bread and wine), you’re still welcome to come forward. Simply cross your arms over your chest so that the priest will know to share a brief prayer of blessing instead. We use several books during our worship, and we know that can be confusing at first! We hope the following abbreviations that are used in the order of worship will help you to sort things out, but also please feel free to ask someone near you. All of us were new at some point, too! BCP Book of Common Prayer • H Hymnal 1982 (Blue & Red Hymnal) •S front section of the Hymnal 1982• AAHH African American Heritage Hymnal • LEVAS Lift Every Voice and Sing

Please remember to turn off cell phones and all other electronic devices during the service.

ST. LUKE'S 170TH ANNIVERSARY PAYMENT INFORMATION: The Church would like all adult members to donate $170.00 towards its upcoming Anniversary. Payments may be submitted in full or spread out over the period of April 2013 to April 2014. Please use the envelopes designated for the Anniversary which are located in the back of the church. It is very important that you write your name on the envelope to get credit for your payment. Please place donations in the collection plate on Sundays. Thank you for supporting this wonderful milestone.
