Abdul Rahim Idris, Begonia in Kalimantan: The Expedition to Discover Undescribed Species in the Meratus Ecosytem Range Meratus - ancient ophiolite mountains that divided South Kalimantan into two. The geographical isolation of these mountains has created the perfect environment for many species including Begonia. In 2015, only five accepted species were recorded in Kalimantan, in comparison to 250 in total of Begonia species in Borneo. Leon McCarron, The Zagros Mountain Trail Expedition Over the last 7 years I have worked with a local team to map and develop a long-distance walking trail in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, called the Zagros Mountain Trail. This year I will lead a small team on a thru-hike of its entire length, as well as exploring a new section that could form an extension, to collect and preserve the history, heritage, and knowledge of the path. www.zagrosmountaintrail.org | www.leonmccarron.com
