Calgary is located at the confluence of the Elbow and Bow Rivers and is the largest city in Alberta. Located east of the downtown on 9th Avenue South. Close by, take the kids to the Calgary Zoo. It is open from 9am to 5pm each day, 364 days each year and hosts about 800 animals from around the world. Already Canada’s most visited zoo, they expects to host 1.5 million visitors over the next year.

Why? Because the Giant Pandas have arrived! That’s right, after many years of planning, and $100 million in upgrades, the Calgary Zoo opened the doors to its new stateof-the-art Panda Passage on May 7, 2018.

Calgary is also home to major attractions. Including Heritage Park, Telus Spark, Glenbow Museum, Canada Olympic Park, Spruce Meadows and the Military Museum.

Bringing the pandas to Calgary was part of an international agreement signed in 2012 between China and Canada. The panda habitat, located at the heart of the zoo, promises to be one of the best animal facilities of its kind in the world.

The Calgary Tower is another “must-see”, celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2018! On the Observation Deck you’ll enjoy a spectacular 360-degree view of the bustling city as well as the majestic Rocky Mountains. Dine in the rotating restaurant or stand on the glass floor for a bird’s-eye view of the streets below.
