It has been my very great pleasure recently to open our doors and invite the local community to see what a fantastic school The Excelsior Academy is.
Our recent Cultural Fair was a fun afternoon that brought together our teachers, students and their families to share activities such as inflatable fun, food and refreshments, craft stalls and workshops. It was a great way to show what a strong community we have and to share that with our families. If you joined us, thank you, and I hope you had a great time
We opened our doors again, earlier this week, for our Y6 Open Evening This event is very important for us, as a school, because it enables us to welcome children and families to have a look at our school, meet our students and staff and see for themselves all that awaits the students who choose The Excelsior Academy for their secondary school journey. It was a very successful evening and we hope that those families that visited us on Open Evening will want to learn more. I look forward to being able to show prospective parents our school in action. Headteacher’s tours are available on Thursday mornings and can be booked via our website.
Besides these exciting events, the school continues to be a positive and purposeful place where students enjoy learning and getting the most out of all the enrichment opportunities on offer, enabling them to build a love for learning and a thirst for knowledge that will take them beyond the classroom.
I hope you enjoy this edition of our bulletin.
Year 12 Pathway to Finance enjoyed a trip to Lloyds Bank HQ, completing a series of masterclasses on developing key employability skills. We look forward to offering more trips as the year progresses, and have exciting activities in the pipeline for all of our Pathways: Pathway to Law, Medicine, Technology and Finance.
Top Maths students at TEA enjoyed a UK Maths Trust lecture on Group Testing by Oliver Johnson from the University of Bristol. Students left feeling inspired and ready for an excellent year in Mathematics.
On 26 September, we held The Excelsior Cultural Fair. It was a wonderful occasion that brought our community together in a spirit of joy and unity. Families, students, and staff joined together to share in the music, food, and traditions that made the day so special. Most importantly, the fair celebrated diversity, giving us all the opportunity to learn from one another and appreciate the richness of different cultures within our school community. A big thank you to all our students, parents, and staff who were involved in making the day such a success. A massive thank you also goes to our sponsors, Delta Security, SPG, and A1 Service, for their generous support.
