From The Foundation Chairman Excela Health’s “medical mall” approach to providing ambulatory care as it currently exists at Excela Square Latrobe is now available at Excela Square at Frick. Over the past several years a variety of Excela Health physician specialists in cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics and sports medicine and pain management have relocated to the Mount Pleasant site. Earlier this year, two primary care offices - Main Street Medical in Mount Pleasant Borough and Norvelt Family Medicine in Mount Pleasant Township – came together as Excela Square Frick Family Medicine, and continue on as a Family Medicine Residency teaching practice. Located on the first floor of the campus, which also is home to Excela Frick Hospital, the family medicine practice places its patients in the same building where they can take full advantage of diagnostic testing and other specialty care The campus also offers an advanced lung center and advanced wound center. These resources combine to provide patients access to the majority of medical services they will need over a lifetime. The Family Medicine Residency program continues to provide a high-quality niche program for those choosing primary care careers. It has been instrumental in building the network of board-certified Family Medicine practitioners for our Westmoreland region. Our patients appreciate the convenience of a one-stop facility for their health needs knowing they are receiving top care from the team of Residents and Residency Faculty. Excela Square at Latrobe has proven to be very successful in using this particular model for patient care since its opening in 2018. On behalf of the Foundation’s board of directors, I thank you for your continued support. Thomas P. Gessner, MD Chairman
