In the version 2 you can see how the upper part of the front plate was shaped to ensure more rigidity. The lens flange is black aluminium. On this camera you can see a big grain leather instead of the usual fine grain leather.The shutter fires while the curtains move slowly or stay open. Cosmetically good.
Questo modello è caratterizzato dalla parte alta del frontale che diviene più rigido di quello del modello precedente. In questa macchina la pelle è a grana grossa mentre di solito, ma non sempre, c’è grana sottile. La macchina funzionerebbe se le tendine si muovessero bene (lente o aperte). Buona esteticamente

On this camera the lens flange is white aluminium. Fine grain leather. The shutter fires and the curtains work. Cosmetically good. I named it Version 2/2 because of the differences with the previous camera.
Su questa macchina la flangia della baionetta è in alluminio bianco. la pelle a grana fine. La macchina funziona ed è in buone condizioni estetiche. L’ho chiamata versione 272 per le differenze col modello precedente.

This is one of the camera with a modified frontplate. Works well even if with slow times the left curtain doesn’t close. The lens is a fine Flektogon 35. Nice leather case with holes for flash connections. Cosmetically very fine.

Exakta II A, #900772, version 4. This camera is the rare version 4 of the Exakta VX IIa. The front plate was hammered under the embossed inscription “Varex IIa”, then was resilvered and then engraved. Extremely rare in Europe. Shutter works, left curtain slow. Nameplate has dull matte chrome finish. Exakta is embossed, IIa is engraved with no paint in the engraving.
Exakta II A, #900772, version 4. Si tratta della rara versione 4 della Exakta VX IIa. Il frontale è stato martellato sotto la scritta a rilievo “Varex IIa”, riargentato e successivamente inciso. Molto rara in Europa. La macchina funziona, la tendina di sinistra è lenta. Extremely rare in Europe. Shutter works, left curtain slow. Lo scudo frontale ha una finitura cromata opaca. Non c’è colore sull’incisione “IIA”.

EXAKTA IIA VARIANTS There are Exakta variants like the version 4, but they have not the same number batch of the preceding one (around 900000) and they have not the engraved inscription on the bottom. On the right you can look at two frontplates (one of them has not the embossed Exakta).
On the IIA the front plate was hammered under the embossed inscription “Varex IIa”, then was professionaly resilvered and then engraved. On the bottom the body number.
Ci sono diverse varianti della versione 4 ma non sono nello stesso range (intorno al 900000) e non hanno quindi la stessa incisione sul fondo: sulla destra, a titolo di esempio, riporto le immagini di due frontali, uno dei quali non ha il logo a rilievo.
Sulla IIA il frontale fu martellato dietro la scritta a rilievo “Varex IIa”, poi fu argentato professionalmente e poi inciso. Sotto il numero di serie.

Exakta IIa, #942275, version 5. Questa versione fu prodotta nel 1961, 25 anni dopo la prima Kine. Nello stesso anno vennero prodotti prisma e pozzetto con le strisce per celebrare l’anniversario. Si tratta della prima macchina con il nuovo design. La scritta VX IIa era presente solo all’interno. La macchina funziona bene. Esteticamente è bella ad eccezione dell’etichetta nera.

Camera in fine condition except for some black pain wear on the back, under the reload lever.

It was another step towards the communist way of managing companies throwing away the logo Ihagee (symbol of private ownership). This body has the number in the same batch of the Elbaflex. The camera works and it is in fine condition. As Aguila and Rouah say the nameplates were affixed at the final stage of assembly.

Fu un altro passo verso l’impostazione comunista di gestire le aziende, buttando via anche il logo Ihagee, simbolo della proprietà privata. Per quanto riguarda l’etichetta Aguila e Rouah dicono che esse furono montate nello stadio finale dell’assemblaggio. La macchina funziona.
