Well, you could conceivably buy and install these Duette Architella honeycomb shades, and, come tax time, include the receipt from your purchase—plus the Manufacturer's Certification Statement—in order to file for the tax credit for energy savings on your return. New construction, even if it will be your primary residence, does not count. Items must be purchased and installed between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2013. The 2012-2013 tax credit is subject to a lifetime limitation of $500. Homeowners should consult with their tax advisors to determine eligibility.
