Manchester City Legends
San Miguel Golf Society at Alicante
THE TOUR of a group of Manchester City Football Legends reached the coast last week. On Friday, 34 former players and locals turned up at La Paraleja Golf Course for a Pro-Am team event. The following day, the Legends took to the pitch at the new Centre Deportivo Municipal at Playa Flamenca for an exhibition football match.

Medals for Torrevieja in swimming finals LAST Saturday, swimmers of Torrevieja Swimming Club participated in the 30th Regional Swimming Finals in Sedavi, Valencia. Two of the clubs swimmers, Zoe Connolly and Piroska Rideg had previously qualified in competitions
throughout the year to earn places in this weekend’s two day event. Both Piroska and Zoe earned qualifying times in the maximum number of events allowed, both girls swimming 100m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke and 200m Medley. The club meets each evening, in three sessions, Monday to Friday between 5.30pm and 9pm. The club trains in the 50m pool at the Palacio de Deportes Infanta Cristina, Torrevieja. LAST week at Alicante Golf Course, 37 players from the San Miguel Golf Society met for a regular Stableford competition. Barry Roehrigon won Gold category (36 pts), and Steve Higgins came second. Silver category was won by Phil and Marg Birtwistle (42 and 37 pts respectively) and in Bronze category, Pearl Sobine (34 pts) defeated Sandra Twentyman (33 pts).
