Modern men don’t want to pay for everything! The report reveals some interesting statistics bearing in mind that most females consider themselves part of Beyonce’s ‘Independent woman’ gang. A massive 84 per cent of men surveyed said that they paid for most dating expenses, 39 per cent of women admitted that they hoped men would not ask them to contribute, while 44 per cent of women were annoyed when men ‘expected’ women to pay. Despite the burning of bras and massive leaps in terms of equal rights for women and men, it seems that many women still expect men to pick up the bill when first dating. However the report does reveal that younger, college-educated women are more likely to offer to share the costs of dating. “It is a shared experience so it should be entirely shared, unless one partner is treating the other for a special occasion,” says one woman. Oh… and just for the record, 44 per cent of men said they would break it off with women who don’t offer to help pick up the tab. Does this explain why he didn’t reply to that message!
