OR Marina Alabau, 2012 was truly a memorable year. She recently returned to Spain after winning last month’s World Windsurfing RS Title in Borocay, the Philippines, adding to the medal she gained as the first Olympian to win gold for Spain at the London 2012 Games. And her success last year did not end there, for Marina was also named ‘Golden Andalucian Woman’ by the Andalucian Sports Journalists Federation. The 27-year-old professional windsurfer almost won an Olympic medal five years ago in Beijing when she finished fourth in the women’s event. The following year she won the Women’s RS:X World Championship in Weymouth, UK, adding to five European Championship wins in Cyprus, France, Israel, Poland and Madeira between 2007 and 2012. Marina’s first contact with windsurfing was at the age of six when she enrolled in
