To determine the effects of Aquatrols treatments on golf green turf under stress.

Project summary and status as of 1 January 2016

Five experimental biostimulant formulations were applied biweekly to a USGA green that was seeded with a blend of creeping bentgrass varieties. The treatments lasted from 3 June to 6 October and the experimental design was a completely randomised block with four replicates. The green was fertilised biweekly with a complete balanced fertiliser. The seasonal N rate was 10 g m-2, which is about 60% of the normal rate for Scandinavian creeping bentgrass greens. Observations made throughout the season were visual assessments of turfgrass overall impression colour and density. Chlorophyll index, soil moisture content and root development were also measured. The final observations will be made after snowmelt/soil thaw in spring 2016. The results will be presented in a confidential report to Aquatrols in June 2016.
