Cerralbo Museum | Calle Ventura Rodríguez 17, 28008 Madrid Tuesday – Saturday: 09.30 – 15.00 (17.00 – 20.00 on Thursdays) | Sunday: 10.00 – 15.00 Located in the former home of the 17th Marquis of Cerralbo, the museum displays the 50,000 pieces of art he has acquired while traveling in Europe. Among the collection donated by the Marquis are paintings, sculptures, decorative or archaeological objects giving an insight into the life of a 19thcentury aristocratic family in Madrid.

Lázaro Galdiano Foundation Museum | Serrano 122, 28006 Madrid Tuesday – Saturday: 10.00 – 16.30 | Sunday: 10.00 – 15.00 The former home of the writer and businessman José Lázaro Galdiano is now housing one of the most exceptional private collection of paintings and other valuable art objects. Masterpieces include Hieronymus Bosch or Goya’s portraits, as well as an outstanding library containing over 20,000 books.

Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando | Calle Alcalá 13, 28014 Madrid Tuesday – Sunday: 10.00 – 15.00 The permanent collection of the Museum of the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts includes works from Spanish, Italian and Flemish art. It contains paintings (Goya, Zurbarán),sculptures (Pereira,Picasso), drawings and decorative art objects from the 16th to the 19th century.

National Archaeological Museum | Calle Serrano 13, 28001 Madrid Tuesday – Saturday: 09.30 – 20.00 | Sunday and public holidays: 09.30 – 15.00 The National Archaeological Museum covers a large part of the history of antique art of the Mediterranean cultures from prehistory to the 19th century. Although the Lady of Elche is the highlight of the collection, Greek ceramics or Visigoth votive crowns occupy an important part.
