1980 WORCESTER CITY 4-3 FLEET Seven goals were shared at St George’s Lane in this Southern League clash but Fleet were edged out despite goals by George Baldwin (pictured), Tug Wilson and Bert Hawkins. City’s manager that day went by the wonderful name of Percy Percy. Fleet suffered their seventh defeat in nine games and would lose three of their next four as they dropped to an eventual 15th place finish. Baldwin went on to play for Dartford and, for one apparently disastrous game, Gillingham. TEAM: Gould, Baldwin, Chambers, Deevey, Aldous, Lilburn, Gore, Wilson, Hawkins, Viles, Wipfler.

FLEET 2-1 SALISBURY CITY Fleet warmed up for their FA Trophy first-leg semi-final v Aldershot with this win over a side who, like ourselves, still had one eye on the play-offs. Chukki Eribenne (pictured) scored a brace in front of a sparse crowd on a bi"erly cold evening. He notched both in a fiveminute spell around the half-hour, the first from a Stacy Long cross, the second a header from a Luke Moore knock-on. Current Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke ne"ed a late consolation for Salisbury. TEAM: Cronin, Ricke!s (Bull 90), McPhee, Bostwick, McCarthy, Hawkins, Opinel, Long, Eribenne (Nade 86), Moore, Barre!. A!endance: 670
