Readers respond to last week’s cover story about abortion rights in Michigan, following the news of a leaked draft that indicated that the U.S. Supreme Court will soon overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade.

I’m very strongly in favor of women choosing, however this “wake up call” is far too little, FAR too late. The SCOTUS is stacked with hard right ideologues and Michigan helped let that happen in ’16. —Andrew Alexander, Facebook

Wait until the ones that think this is funny and are poor and oops they get raped or a relative decided to defile them, see because until it happens to them, they don’t give a crap and they think women dying is funny. What’s even funnier they think they’re Christians. —Diana Hoffer, Facebook

Mitch McConnell said recently a national ban on abortions is possible. And within that language is a pre-screening for women to determine pregnancy if trying to leave the country. Sounds like a form of government slavery to me. It was NEVER about returning to a state decision. This is war against women. —Marie Millican, Facebook

Once the baby is born, their job is done. They couldn’t care less what happens to the child. —Leslie Britton, Facebook
