SoCon Championships
The Buccaneers captured the Southern Conference men’s golf championship 17 times after joining the league in 1979 -- the most by any conference member. ETSU was dominant from the beginning, winning five straight titles from 1979-1983. Making the numbers even more impressive is the fact that ETSU did not have a men’s golf team from 1984-86. Most recently, the Bucs won six straight titles from 1996 to 2001, and bid farewell to the SoCon with a championship in 2005. The Bucs won eight of 10 titles during the '90s and began this decade by winning the 2000 and 2001 championships. The Buccaneers won 12 of 15 championships. Along with the team accolades, many ETSU players have received conference honors. The Bucs have had 12 individual conference champions -- including Patrick Beste in 2000 and Chris Wisler in 1999. The Bucs joined the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2006.
