Protect Mills Drive Fund Update To The Editor: We have appealed a Town Decision July 2016 when they okayed a large commercial venue on Mills Drive in a mostly residential area of Estes Park adjacent to RMNP with employee housing and a wildlife corridor too. It is a large venue called Lazy B Chuckwagon Wranglers and Ranch with a planned 18,000 square foot building and a large parking lot for 196 cars nightly in summer and other times on Mills Drive right across from our homes - the road would be widened for all the traffic and landscaping would be torn out in our front yards and some home parking would disappear. We are not against the venue but we feel it is in the wrong location with lots of congestion on nearby roads already. Mostly we object to the decision to not abide by existing town codes, zoning, definitions and plans. We have retained a lawyer and are asking for your help with our Protect Mills

Drive Legal Fund - we are estimating it will cost $15,000 to $20,000 with legal fees, expenses for filing, copying transcripts etc - we have raised $8,525 so far and we thank all of our friends and neighbors in Estes Park and beyond. If you would like to contribute to this legal fund, send your check to Maureen and Jay Vetter, 1711 Mills Drive, Estes Park, CO 80517. On the check write "Protect Mills Drive." Nov 15 Tuesday is another Planning Commission Meeting at 1:30 p.m. to decide on an Amendment to the Special Review Plan for loading and unloading. It is on the Town of Estes Park website with the Agenda - the Study Session is at 12:20 pm upstairs in City Hall. December 13 the Town Council will look at the Amendment to the Special Review Plan. Thanks for all of the support from folks around Estes Park and beyond ! Maureen and Jay Vetter, Estes Park, CO

Heart Of Expression Art That Connects We would like to express our very sincere gratitude to all of the people and organizations who participated in and attended the most recent Heart of Expression Art Sale and Fundraising Event held at The View Restaurant on October 14th. It was a wonderful and successful evening! $350 was donated to EPNRC! A special thank you to the ten artists who displayed and sold their amazing work, to Ballet Renaissance who had three fabulous ballerinas dancing throughout the evening, to The View Restaurant for the complementary appetizers and wonderful food, and to all of you who came out to have a good time and support the artists, The View, and The Estes Park Nonprofit Center (EPNRC). 20% of art sales, food and drink sales were donated to EPNRC. Thanks also to Susan B. Anderson, a local ceramic artist, for the donation of two Spirit Houses that were sold at silent auction for a 100% donation to EPNRC. Thanks also to those who donated to the gratitude jar for a $40 donation to Shin-

ing Hope for Communities. Heart of Expression: Art that Connects is a collaboration of Rocky Mountain Day Hikes and Enlightening the Living Heart. We hold four seasonal events each year and our next event will be held on December 16th, at Elkins Distilling Co, from 5-8 p.m. Please watch for details soon! This event is full, but we welcome artists to contact us about participating for a future event. If interested, please contact Patti by email, patti@enlighteningthelivingheart.com, or phone, 970-396-5440. You can also follow Heart of Expression on facebook. Heart of Expression is about expressing our hearts as ourselves in whatever way each of us does that. We create events in which each person has the opportunity to experience the joy of expression and participate in the creation of prosperity and community. In a joyful and magical way, our events strive to support artists, restaurants/spirit-makers, nonprofits, and the community as a whole.
