Variety Of Art Classes Offered At The Art Center In June The Art Center of Estes Park is pleased to announce a number of art education opportunities for all ages available at the Art Center throughout the month of June. Explore a variety of media. Take an afternoon class, immerse yourself in a two day workshop, or drop in on a Thursday afternoon to experiment with watercolor, acrylics and colored pencils. We’ve got some awesome art opportunities with a range of affordable prices. Check out what is available, and register today! Felted Sculpture (Intergenerational) with Rebecca Gilberto June 12 (Tues.) 1:00-5:00 p.m. Class Fee: $15 (Intergenerational class no member discount) Additional Materials Fee: $15 Payment for materials to be made directly to teacher on day of class. Class Description: Come one and all, ages 10 years and up. Younger children welcome if accompanied by an adult. Students will learn basic nuno felting techniques in a collaborative effort to create a felted sculpture that will be displayed at the Art Center. They will also make a “surprise” felted sculpture of their own to take home with them. Diving Into Watercolor Wax Batik with Linda Renaud June 15 & 16 (Friday and Saturday) 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Class Fee: AC Member: (10% discount) $157.50 ~ Non Member: $175 Additional Materials fee: $15 Payment for materials to be made directly to teacher on day of class. Class Description: The process of watercolor wax batik will be explained, demonstrated and practiced in this hands-on workshop. Learn how to plan your painting, build the multiple layers of wax and watercolor and then do the final batiking and the “reveal.” In order to help everyone complete a painting during the two-day workshop, all students will be doing the same painting from a photo (of an elk calf) supplied by

ent watercolor is an adventure that I have been on for most of my life. I love the luminous characteristics of watercolor. Join me for two exciting days of painting together as I share with my fellow artist students a wealth of techniques and principles of watercolor I have learned over the years. You will complete at least 2-4 small watercolors during the workshop. Our subjects will be landscape with a specific emphasis on painting water. We will also do some pen and ink drawing combined with watercolor. Beginning Professional Colored Pencil with Lynn Jones June 23 (Saturday), 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Class Fee: AC Member: (10% discount) $31.50 ~ Non Member: $35 Optional additional materials provided - A set of colored pencils can be provided, at a nominal cost, by the teacher, if student does not have them. Payment for materials to be made directly to teacher on day of class. Class Description: This class is for the beginner wanting to learn how to use professional colored pencil. This is not a coloring book class, but a class to teach you the basics of color and shading, techniques for getting professional results and what supplies will give you the professional art you desire. Drawings will be provided for you and a basic set of pencils is all that is needed. A fun class that will get you started on a new

Fun Flowers with Sandy Fritz June 25, (Monday), 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Class Fee: : AC Member: (10% discount) $54 ~ Non Member: $60 Class Description: FUN Flowers is a creative journey into mixed media collage. This technique will be taught in an easy going atmosphere and will be a good opportunity to work with new mediums and ideas. It will include hand painted papers, texture, acrylic paint and spray paints. You will complete the art piece in this workshop. This class fits the bill as an Intergenerational Art Center Class! It is perfect for adults (beginners to experienced artists in any medium) who may wish to attend with a younger family member/friend and budding artist.
