Children’s Deployment Workbooks and Parent Guide
Having trouble finding a workshop date or time that works for you? Do you live too far away from the MFRC to participate in the Children’s Workshops? Would you like to better support your child throughout their parent’s deployment or other work-related absence? What about doing your own Children’s Deployment Workshops at home? We have developed Children’s Deployment Workbooks for children 3 to 12 years of age and an easy-to-use Parent Guide for the parent at home which also includes tips and activities for the deployed parent. Stop by any MFRC location to pick up your copy today! Copies of these manuals are available to deployed members on their ships and electronically upon request. Deployment staff are available to assist you throughout the deployment with email support. Mail Drop Off Locations
The Esquimalt MFRC is the easiest and most popular way to send morale mail or care package parcels to a deployed military member. This is a free service available at the MFRC under the direction of the Fleet Mail Office. For more information, visit How to Send Morale Mail section on our website.

Work-Related Absence Resources:
Are you experiencing a work-related absence in 2022? At your MFRC, we know firsthand the physical and emotional demands placed on partners, children and extended family and friends as a result of a work-related absence or extended duty. Here are some resources and services that you can access while experiencing a deployment or work-related absence: • Build your own Everything Binder full of information you may need in a moment’s notice, from important phone numbers to when each and every bill is due. • Listen to The Military Lifestyle podcast’s episodes dedicated to preparing for work-related absences and return and reunion. • Pick up a copy of the Children’s Deployment Workbooks for children 3 to 12 years of age and an easy-to-use parent guide for the at-home parent that includes tips and activities for the away parent. • Download the Parenting from Afar book. It is designed to help maintain the connection between the parent/caregiver at home and the parent who is away so that you can continue to raise your child together. • Download or pick up a copy of the Deployment Support Books. These books contain information to make work-related absences easier for military families.
