jazz voyeur 2008 Pee Wee Ellis’ distinguished career has embraced some of the most important musical movements of recent decades, from jazz to funk, via the blues and a touch of rock. After almost forty years in the music business, he is one of the most acclaimed saxophonists of his generation and one of the most sought-after arrangers and musical directors in the music industry. He was an important member of James Brown’s band and appeared on many of Brown’s most notable recordings. He also worked closely with Van Morrison throughout the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s as an arranger and musical director. This is the man to listen to, to hear great funk sax.
