Following the great success of their production Novo in 2007, Cirque Bouffon are back with the premiere of their brand new show Angell at Parc de la Mar, Palma throughout June. The group was founded in 1999 by Frederic ‘Boul’ Zipperlin, a former member of the renowned Canadain Cirque de Soleil. Here, in collaboration with GOP, he brings together another extremly talented bunch of acrobats, musicians and theatrical performers in a show that plays with the parallel worlds – you may need an angel in heaven as in hell. 14th MALLORCA BALLET SEASON: COMPAÑÍA ANTONIO GADES “Fuenteovejuna” Fuenteovejuna is based on Lope de Vega’s 17th-century play of the same name, in which the inhabitants of the titular Andalusian village rebel against the tyranny of a local feudal lord. Antonio Gades (1936-2004) was renowned for being a master of flamenco dance and he won critical acclaim for his 1994 interpretation which features a wide variety of vibrant folk dance styles. XVII del mismo nombre, en la cual los habitantes de un pueblo andaluz se rebelan en contra de la tiranía del señor feudal. ARTE CORALE: Art Corale is without doubt one of the best choirs in the world. They revive and conserve the tradition of choral singing with such smoothness and perfect pitch, they leave a perennial impression on their audience. All choir members have graduated from the Moscow Conservatory and the Russian Academy of Music. Following many tours in their Russian homeland, the choir made their first overseas performance in Germany in 1992. Their popularity has continued to grow with audiences ranging from 500 to 1000 at each church venue. One of their greatest landmarks was playing to over 2000 people at the Athens Acropolis Amphitheatre in 1996. Since then they have toured throughout Europe and the USA and have just completed their 2nd CD last year. For one week in June Art Corale are performing at various venues across the island.
Art Corale es sin lugar a dudas uno de los mejores coros en el mundo. Ellos reviven y conservan la tradición del canto coral como la suavidad y un tono perfecto; dejan una impresión perenne en su público. Todos los miembros del coro se graduaron en el Conservatorio de Moscú y en la Academia de Música de Rusia. Hicieron muchos tours en su Rusia natal, e hicieron su primera actuación fuera en Alemania en 1992. Su popularidad ha continuado creciendo con sus actuaciones desde unas 500 a unas 1000 iglesias. Una de sus actuaciones más famosas fue delante de unas 2000 personas en el anfiteatro de la acrópolis de Atenas en 1996. Desde entonces han estado de tour por Europa y Estados Unidos y acaban de terminar su 2º CD. En junio Art Corale actuará durante una semana en varios lugares por toda la isla.

2nd JELLYFISH COMEDY NIGHT: Mark Maier

Following the sell-out success of the first event in April, Jellyfish events are flying in two more top names from the current UK comedy circuit, Mark Maier and Steve Gribbin, to entertain you with live stand-up for the evening. Local celebrity Richie Clark will again host the evening with his own brand of wit & humor, concluding the proceedings as DJ with a selection of all time classic sounds from the 80´s, 90´s and more.
Mark Maier is a multi award winning writer and comic who is highly sought after on both the national and international comedy circuits. He has played across the world, including the Comedy Store in Los Angeles and Caroline’s in New York. “It’s high time someone gave him a TV show of his own” The Guardian. Steve Gribbin is a diminutive guitar-wielding satirist from Liverpool whose scabrous comedy songs and off the wall observations have made him one of the firm favourites of the comedy circuit. His original comedy songs combine razor sharp lyrics with tunes that put their foot in the door of your mind and refuse to leave. MOULIN ROUGE CABARET As part of their 120th anniversary and for the very first time in Spain, the Parisian MOULIN ROUGE dancers will be presenting their Premiere show at the exclusive 5 star resort Blau Porto Petro. The show takes place on June 19 and 20 with a spectacular ensemble of artists, acrobats and the famous DORISS GIRLS. Luxury and glamour arrive in Mallorca together with 1.500 kg of feathers, jewellery and the impressive exclusive costumes of the prettiest dancers in the world. Parisian pizzazz in a show that was specially designed for this event and which will end with the world famous “Can-Can” will take place during the fantastic Gala Dinner with performances of the Clou Experience live orchestra from Germany. Also appearing are the world famous magicians Erick Lantin and Valerie who will be presenting their show which includes live tigers and panthers on stage. With the accompanying live orchestra, it will be an unforgettable evening that takes place outdoors on a 150m2 stage surrounded by forests and Mediterranean beaches. Both evenings begin at 21.00 and will conclude at 02.00.
