WEST CABARRUS HIGH SCHOOL

CONCORD, NC | Completed 2020

Welcoming students to its 108-acre campus in August 2020, West Cabarrus High School includes a 264,000-square-foot building, 4,000-seat stadium with a 77,000-square-foot football field and eight-lane track, six tennis courts, two baseball fields, and associated parking and drives.

Environmental & Subsurface Evaluation: ESP performed a Phase I ESA and subsurface exploration on the site to aid the discovery of project challenges requiring mitigation. Findings included the presence of shallow subsurface water and near surface rock. ESP also facilitated a wetland survey used to secure USACE wetland permits.

Design Surveys: To support the engineering and architectural firms designing the new school, our team used traditional survey and mobile lidar to perform boundary, topographic, and tree surveys on the five contiguous parcels that make up this 108-acre site. Location and right-of-way surveys were also performed on approximately 8,500 linear feet of off-site roadway adjacent to the site for the design of roadway improvements.

Survey Deliverables: Deliverables included recordable plats of survey and metes & bounds legal descriptions for each parcel. Upon completion, appropriate monumentation was set at all missing corners of the property.
