The Polytechnic Institute of Porto is a renowned institution in the Portuguese public higher education system. Established in 1985, it is today the fourth largest institution within the higher education sector in terms of admissions. A community of about 22.000 people study, teach, research or work daily within the universe of the Polytechnic of Porto – across its three campuses, eight schools, four extension units, or in the Presidency’s Secretariat and Social Services. The relevance of the Polytechnic of Porto is not only evidenced by its size, but also by the recognition and quality of its educational offer, by the number of national and international students that we have consistently attracted over the last years, by the place we occupy in international scientific research rankings and by the solid relation P.PORTO has built with the socio-economic fabric of the region and with national/international higher education partners.
