The Empire State Convention of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (ESCYPAA) exists to further the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous by planning & hosting an annual Convention for young people in AA. The Convention provides an opportunity for AA members, regardless of age, to come together & share their experience, strength & hope as members of Alcoholics Anonymous. Our hope is that Convention attendees return to their home groups better prepared to welcome young people into their local AA community. Don’t worry - “young” simply means room to grow! 11 1

NEED TO NKNOW EED TO NKNOW EED TO KNOW 44 4

God, today help me set aside everything I think I know about You, everything I think I know about myself, everything I think I know about others, and everything I think I know about my own recovery so I may have an open mind and a new experience with all these things.

Set Aside Prayer Responsibility Statement

I am responsible when anyone, anywhere reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there, and for that: I am responsible,

Anonymity Statement

There may be some here who are not familiar with our tradition of personal anonymity. Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion. We need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, and film. Therefore, we respectfully ask that no AA member be identified by full name, photographed, or videotaped in published or broadcast./social media reports of this meeting. We also encourage members of Alcoholics Anonymou who are concerned about their anonymity to "share in a general way" that cannot identify them from unique events or circumstances in their life.

3rd Step Prayer

God, I offer myself to Thee To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life.

7th Step Prayer

My Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, good and bad. I pray that you now remove from me every single defect of character which stands in the way of my usefulness to you and my fellows. Grant me strength, as I go out from here, to do your bidding. Amen.

11th Step Prayer

God, direct my thinking, especially that it be divorced from self-pity, dishonest, or self-seeking motives.
