REGIONAL MERCHANDISER
As previously reported, Carlos Sanudo, Director of Food & Beverage, will be leaving The Gallery effective September 6th. Carlos has accepted The Clubhouse Manager position at The Outlaw Golf Course at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale. This is a great opportunity for Carlos as it advances his career and allows him to be closer to his girlfriend who relocated out of Tucson earlier this year. I want to thank Carlos for his dedication, hard work, and everything he did to enhance the Member experience at the Club. I have begun the interview process and have some very promising candidates. I hope to have a new Food & Beverage Director selected and in place no later than September 30th. I will update everyone as the process continues.
I am pleased to announce the conversion of the pool to saltwater and the new fitness carpet installation are complete The saltwater conversion is better for the swimmers as well as the environment and should present a better swim experience for all The carpet in the entire Sports Club has been replaced and looks great I apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during the transition
Lastly, I would like to thank the Members who are fixing ball marks, filling divots, and raking bunkers. Please remember to leave the golf course as you would like to find it when you play.

As you all are aware, September begins our overseeding process at the Club This process, although cumbersome and inconvenient, is an integral part of the course conditions being immaculate NovemberApril Nathan and his team did a wonderful job last season of elevating our course conditions from previous years Please keep in mind, everything we do during the over-seeding process is to benefit the conditions for our Members for the upcoming season
Thank you all for your support and we hope to see you all very soon!

Monday, September 18th – Sunday, October 15th
The North Course will be closed:
Monday, October 9th – Sunday, November 5th.
*We will notify you if these dates are changed for any unexpected reason
As always, I hope everyone enjoys the last few weeks of summer with family and friends.
Good Golfing!
MikeOur team has been very busy this summer with not only the daily upkeep of our Tortolita & Wild Burro nines, but the Saguaro renovation project. We are managing most of the desert clearing landscape portion of the project in-house.
The Saguaro project remains a very high priority for the club and membership, however we will begin our over-seeding process on the other two nines in September & October. We will not be over-seeding the Saguaro golf course this year as we will be continuing to complete renovation work through the winter We are hopeful to complete the Saguaro project and be ready to open sometime in April or May We will have brand-new tee boxes, putting surfaces, and bunkers on Saguaro
On Tortolita & Wild Burro we will over-seed tees, fairways, and roughs this September & October We will be seeding our winter perennial rye grass after scalping down our summertime Bermuda grass. Our green surfaces are all bent grass, so we do not over-seed those at our club. The team will be performing similar best practice to last year ’ s over-seeding this year and we are looking forward to keeping up with our elevated course conditions
During over-seeding, while each golf course is closed, we will be able to accomplish some other projects on those closed golf courses Remember, we will be placing two pins on the open nine holes while we only have 9 holes available. Here is the current planned schedule:
Wild Burro closed 9/12-10/1
Tortolita closed 10/2-10/20
This schedule of course could change depending on the weather and maturation of the rye grass. Thanks as always for your support!
Best Regards,

Every year we get to September I fee invigorated as the weather is ever clo favor and the long hot summer is slo end September also means that we overseeding here in the desert, and I you those dates for this fall
With the renovation of Saguaro ongo much different than years past as we holes open during the overseeding p cutting two pins on every green so th to play 18-holes and be able to play t of the green your second time throug this inconvenience, but we felt it wou 9-holes remain open rather than shu down for 3 weeks.
Dates for closure:
Wild Burro Closed – 9/12-10/1 (Tor
Tortolita Closed – 10/2-10/20 (Wild Burro open but cart path only)
Member/Staff – 8/17/23
Congrats to the team of - Rich Anemone, Deborah Donchess, Joe Donchess, Susan Sommerfeld, Tim Sommerfeld, and Anthony Markland for taking first place! These member staff events have become very popular and are a ton of fun. We will continue these events into the Spring but they will be first come first serve as they fill up very quickly.
Congratulations to Dan Ice and Sean Casey for winning the August Men’s 2-Ball Competition, they edged out the runner-up team of Pat Lucey and Ed Fisher by one stroke

Ingredients:
10 large Jalapeños, sliced lengthways and de-seeded
8 slices of bacon, chopped, cooked and cooled
1/3 cup pulled pork
1 cup crushed cracklins
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup shredded cheese (something tasty or with bite is recommended)
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
Steps:
1 Preheat oven to 320 degrees and line a tray with baking paper
2 Add spices and salt to cream cheese, mix well to combine (cont.)
3 Add shredded cheese, pork and bacon, and mix gently until evenly combined.
4 Take a jalapeno half and using a spoon, scoop in a heaped teaspoon of the mixture, sealing the mix against the sides of the pepper. You should not scrape them flat, but leave a mount of mix to stick the crumb to
5 Press the stuffed side of the jalapeno into the cracklin crumb, then place on baking tray
6. Repeat until all halves are done, then place into the oven
7 Bake for 20-30 minutes, keeping an eye to ensure the cracklins aren’t getting too brown. Remove and allow to cool at least 5 minutes before serving

NEW Corkcicle tumblers at the Dove Shop! Cold Cups, Sport Canteens, Commuter Coffee Mugs, and Can Coolers are perfect for the golf course or tennis court because they keep your beverages cold/hot ALL day long!
I personally use these and can’t leave the house without at least one of them! My favorite new Corkcicle is the 17oz Commuter Coffee Mug! It’s spill proof, you can drink out of any part of the lid, AND it keeps coffee or tea hot for hours.
