COVER STORY
JENNIFER KOTWAL talks to AALIYAH BILGRAMI about her movies in the south, her attitude towards life and the qualities a man should possess to sweep her off her feet. Where does Jennifer come from? I’ve been born and brought up in Bombay. Studied in an all girls convent ‘Villa Theresa’ and then studied in HR College. I have always been a good student and my parents have always been supportive in whatever I do because of that. Nothing in my life was ever planned. I never thought I would be into movies or even do modelling. Tell us about your venture into modelling and acting? I entered modelling at the age of 15. My first ad campaign was toothpaste commercial. I had gone to cheer up a friend at her audition. They erratically asked me to try out and as luck would have it, I was chosen from 500 girls to do the toothpaste campaign. I’m aware many people still know me as ‘Saloni’ from the teenage TV drama “Just Mohabbat” which I did in high school. I loved to be a part of that show. Every day at shoot was a picnic. I’m glad that a south movie called ‘Jogi’ happened to me at the right time and I’m lucky I got to be a part of one of the biggest hit in the industry. What are you usually like? I enjoy being a ‘Leo’ girl, possess a wicked sense of humour which not everyone comprehends and find any kind of ‘speed’ irresistible. Be it bike, boats or cars. I have at least 6 to 8 cups of tea or coffee each day. I have been to an extravagant wedding in shorts and t shirt (Literally) and i also write poetry. My plans are always subject to last minute change and I enormously hate – Heart-breakers, Violence and Wars What else would you be if you weren’t an actor? Don’t really know but definitely something in the creative line as my mind is buzzing with ideas 24*7 40 TULIP MARCH 16-31, 2011
