Comments regarding consideration of limit values The permissible gap dimension x 2 max on the non-pressurised side of the sealing component is specified in the model descriptions of our sealing components. To prevent seizure between the metal of the piston and cylinder, or rod and gland assembly, a minimum difference X3min between the guide and rod/ piston is necessary. The values specified in the table given below apply with maximum exploitation of the max. permissible specific surface pressure of the guide element used. If the maximum permissible specific surface pressure of the guide element used is not exploited to the full, the reduced deflection of the guide element provides for smaller x 3 min dimensions.
