FROM THE EDITOR
May is finally here! And it is getting warm enough to welcome some shorts and flip-flops. With the pools finally open and the schools almost out of summer, let’s go and have some fun! And what a better way to do that than to have your copy of The Power Is Now national magazine!
For those of us who are really passionate about the real estate industry, the spring season is usually one that is packed with activities. Well, that is during the normal times, and we are not really living in normal times, are we?
Last year’s spring really surprised everyone by making a quick comeback that went on into the fall. That is not to say that the industry wasn’t hit, it was, but mildly. This spring really seems to be different from last year. Remember, over the past decade now, we have been experiencing a really low inventory count and just for your perspective, the inventory was down 22% as of November 2020. With low inventory levels, buyers are on their toes hunting for homes, and the best will be snatched up very fast, and at a high cost.
Let me paint you the real picture, just to help you understand what we are dealing with. In December last year, over 7 in 10 homes that were sold during the month were in the market for less than a month. That was in December, the inventory situation hasn’t changed, you can imagine the situation right now.
Basically, what this means is that there just isn’t enough time to hem and haw over your home’s search.
Last month we had one of the most vibrant shows on our TV; Fair Housing Interview Series where I got to sit down with movers and shakers in the real estate market. One thing they really emphasized was to; buy now! And I couldn’t agree more. The market is slim, meaning low possibilities and opportunities for
the home buyer. What are you still waiting for?
Away from matters real estate, into some really good news. It is that time again where we join hands with our Mexicans and Spanish friends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. this is an annual celebration that is held on May 5 and it celebrates the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla. You can read more about this day only in this issue of the PIN Magazine. Aside from that, May is also the Asian-Pacific Heritage Month also called the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is a period for the duration of the month of May for recognizing the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to history, culture, and achievements of the United States.
On the cover of this issue of The PIN Magazine is Robert Reffkin. Reffkin is the founder of Compass. The company develops software to be used by both buyers and sellers making real estate operations extremely easy and fun. Found out more about Mr. Reffkin only in this issue of the PIN magazine.
