Preparations can be hectic, and once the meal’s over and cleared, it’s time for hostesses to relax and restfully savor the festive holiday. This Thanksgiving moment is reserved for taking it easy with loved ones, shar ing recreational pursuits with them and reflecting on present blessings.

Highway safety and travel experts recommend the same precautions for going back. Plan ahead. Check the car lights; wiper blades; tire pressure, spare tire, jack and tools;

Pack patience for the return trip, experts advise. Bad weather’s not the only event that can disrupt flight schedules. The number of Thanks giving travelers nearly returned this year to pre-pandemic levels. Staffing shortages continue to plague the airline industry.
Air travel experts recommend stay ing in touch with the airlines; book ing the earliest flights of the day and non-stop, if available; being flexible; flying mid-week, if possible; reserving a parking space ahead of time; arriv ing at the airport early; and avoiding checking a bag.

“This season validates the hard work and dedication these boys have shown for the whole season,” said Ben Richardson, East interim principal. “It highlights the quality of the character of our young people that attend East High School.”
The team consists of players from seven countries, showing the school’s diversity, according to a statement from the Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) system.
As a sendoff, East organized an indoor parade on Nov. 17 where the Bears walked through the halls of the school as the players were celebrated by the school’s student body. After the parade, the team departed for the St. Louis area to prepare for the state tournament.
“We are incredibly proud of our East High School boys soccer team and all our studentathletes across the district,” said Elle Moxley, KCPS spokesperson. “The team worked hard to get to the semifinals ... Washing or rinsing your turkey before you cook it is not recommended – it actually increases the risk that you will cross-contami nate germs from the turkey to other food items that you are preparing. However, if you DO decide to wash or rinse your turkey, carefully (and fully!) clean and sanitize your sink and surrounding counter area before introducing any other food items.
Remember – cleaning and sanitizing is a two-step process. To clean, rub down surfaces including the sink, cutting boards, counter tops, etc., with soap and hot water, and then sanitize them with a cleaning solution (i.e., 409, unscented bleach, or a similar cleaning solution) to remove any residual germs you can’t see. You can make your own sanitizing solution using one tablespoon of unscented, liquid chlorine bleach in one gallon of water. Let it air dry after you wipe it down. Never mix different cleaning products together and never mix cleaning products with other household items. For example, never mix bleach with ammonia, vinegar or other acids, because a chemical reaction will produce a gas that can be dangerous to breathe.

Check the internal temperature at the thick est part of the turkey breast, the innermost part of the thigh and the innermost part of the wing.
