Además, aprenderán sobre liderazgo y cosas nuevas sobre sus vidas”, dijo. El único requisito para inscribirse en el programa es que tengan fe y deseo de servir a Dios. “La persona que desee formar parte del programa no tiene que ser metodista”, indicó. “Nosotros simplemente estamos buscando gente que quiera servir a Dios”. “Nosotros creemos que la iglesia puede cambiar los corazones, puede cambiar las vidas y puede cambiar las comunidades”, agregó. “También, la iglesia puede ayudar a las personas con sus necesidades básicas”. La primera sesión informativa comenzará a las 10 a.m. el día 2 de marzo. Después, se llevarán a cabo sesiones mensuales en sábado en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Cristo, ubicada en 14506 E. 39th St. en Independence, Mo. El programa es bilingüe. The only requirements to enroll in the program are to have faith and a desire to serve God. “The person who wants to be part of the program doesn’t need to be a Methodist,” Chavez said. “We are just looking for people who want to serve God.” “We believe that the church can change hearts, can change lives, can change communities,” Chavez also said. “Also, the church is able to help people with their basic needs.” The first information session will begin at 10 a.m. on March 2. After March 2, monthly sessions will be held on Saturdays. Program sessions will be held at the Christ United Methodist Church at 14506 E. 39th St. in Independence, Mo. The program is bilingual.
